My total word count on the novel passed 10,000 yesterday. That’s about 7%. Hopefully I can write every day this week, because we have a busy weekend coming up.

Plugging Away at the Novel

Monday, August 16th, 2004
I’ve returned to writing again. I have some simple maps together. I have at least enough to get me through the first bit. I hope to flesh them out later, but for now I need to get more writing done. My word count is about 5% of my goal and I’m about 4.5% through my outline.

I’m an idiot!

Monday, August 2nd, 2004
Since I finished reading Latter Days (the second to last volume of Cerebus, the 6000 page epic graphic novel) some months ago, I have been grumping about, attemping to find a copy Cerebus issue 290. See, I’ve been reading Cerebus since I was about 12, and I really wanted to read to the end (issue 300). I have issue 289, and issues 291-300 sitting here (Latter Days finishes up at 288).

Today I took 289 out for no real reason (my copy of The Last Day, containing issues 289-300 should arrive this week), flipped it over and saw the cover for issue 290. Double issue. That would be why I couldn’t find it anywhere, because I’m an idiot. Oh well.

I’ll have more to say about Cerebus soon. Maybe I can finish it before it gets here.

Update: To learn a valuable lesson from Cerebus, read more…
