I know we've had this discussion before. I think that people do read into things in e-mail, and they do blame the medium itself, but they are pretty much scape-goating. But I must say, I hate emoticons, too. To me, they are a little childish and shouldn't be necessary if people would just stop and think before they react. Well said, Jay.
